Your privacy is of great importance to us and our website has been developed with that in mind. We recognize your right to know what information is being collected about you and how that information will be used, as well as our obligations to protect what we do collect.
Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information
Personal information is collected from potential donors, donors, volunteers, and individual grant applicants and recipients for the overall purpose of meeting the mission of the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada. Prior to collecting personal information, the specific purpose and intended use is documented on all-volunteer and grant application forms and donor information forms. Personal information collected and maintained is accurate and up-to-date to the best knowledge of the Foundation. Personal information is collected, used, and protected in accordance with the aforementioned codes.
Email and Website Security
If requested by the donor, the Foundation will occasionally send information and/or newsletter notices through email. This is conducted on an “opt-in” basis only.
All emails sent include an email address to respond to should the individual wish to have their name removed from the email list.
Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada website pages requesting personal information, including credit card numbers, names and addresses are linked and hosted by a third party, secure website. All information shared by individuals, and information transfers are conducted under secure site conditions.
How We Protect Your Information
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to data. These measures include internal and external reviews of our data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures, including physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.
We restrict access to personal information to employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop, or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
When we provide business partners with your information in order to fulfill your request, we require that these parties agree to process such information on our instructions and with appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
